Mónica De Pinto
Patents Engineer
Mónica joined Moeller IP Advisors in 1991 where she began her IP career. She is experienced in prosecuting patent applications and defending applications in written pre-grant oppositions and appeal proceedings in Latin American countries. She has particular experience in the fields of chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, biotechnology and crop science.
Mónica graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) with a Bachelor in Chemistry and a two-year specialization in Organic Chemistry. Following this, she spent two years at the Organic Chemistry Department at the University of Buenos Aires conducting a research project focused on the development of herbicides based on carbohydrates and sulphur compounds. In 1990, she took part in a six-month scholarship at Shell’s Refinery Lab in Argentina.
Later in her career, Mónica furthered her education by taking two courses at the Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires. The first course was in “Prior Art Searches and Freedom-to-operate Searches” in 2009, and the second course was in “Biotechnological Patents” in 2016.
Outside of work, Mónica regularly practices yoga and sports. She loves traveling as much as possible and socializing with friends and family.

She also has the following qualifications for English: “First Certificate in English” (FCE; Cambridge English, taken in 1987), “Certificate of Proficiency in English” (CPE; Cambridge English, first taken in 1995 and updated in 2013).
