Sofía Sierra has been part of the Trademarks Moeller team since August 2022. In 2014, she graduated as an Attorney-at-law from the Universidad de la República in Montevideo (Uruguay). She started her practice in litigation in civil and commercial law, and as an assistant professor at the Institute of Private Law II-III of the University of the Republic.

She then worked for a local IP firm in Uruguay and specialized in IP, obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property and new technologies from the Universidad de Austral, Argentina. She is now applying for a master’s degree in civil law with an emphasis on liability from the Universidad de la República in Montevideo.

In Moeller her practice focuses on strategy planification for trademark conflict resolution, in particular in connection to oppositions, rejections, provisional refusals, nullity and cancellation actions, mainly in the Latin-American region, and emerging economies of Asia-Pacific and Africa.

She has also successfully taken over several responsibilities in connection to change of ownership procedures before foreign IP Offices.

In her free time, Sofia likes to travel -both to cosmopolitan cities and natural wonders-, watch movies and read novels.
