Melina Copquin
Senior Patents Paralegal
Melina has been working in the IP field for six years, during which she has gained broad experience in Trademark and Patent matters. She obtained her certification as a patent and trademark agent from the AR PTO in 2016 and has continued learning ever since. During 2014-2016, she attended Universidad del Salvador to pursue a degree in technical English-Spanish translation.
She has dedicated herself exclusively to patent prosecution since 2017, dealing with patent applications both locally and around the globe.
Melina joined Moeller IP’s Patent Team as a semi-senior patent paralegal in February 2020. She handles the filing of patent and design applications throughout Latin America. Her responsibilities include communicating with clients and instructing local agents, preparing and handling required formal documents, and monitoring deadlines. She strives to provide clients with thorough yet clear reports to ensure they receive continuous updates on their cases.
Prior to her IP career, Melina studied to become a professional chef, and she also lived in Italy for three years, where she learned Italian and travelled throughout Europe.
In her spare time, Melina enjoys taking singing lessons, reading and cooking.
Melina is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian, and she has some knowledge of French.
